British sculptor Richard Deacon’s artworks are abstract, but also often allude to anatomical functions. Constructed from common materials, such as wood, steel, aluminium, polyester and ceramic, his body of work comprises both small-scale pieces and much larger objects. Published to accompany an exhibition of his work since 2000 at the CAC Malaga, this catalogue clearly puts forth Deacon’s emphasis on materials, and on the processes he involves in transforming them into works of art. More than 35 sculptures and wall paintings have been included in the exhibition, all of which are beautifully presented here. A text by Enrique Juncosa completes the publication.
