This catalogue accompanies the exhibition ‘RCR Arquitectes: Papers’, organised by Arts Santa Mónica in Barcelona. It reflects the creativity of the architect trio of Rafael Aranda, Carme Pigem, and Ramon Vilalta, based on drawings, gouache, paper, and constructive fragments or layers which they call “exfoliations”. RCR works with various architectural typologies, never hesitating to accept diverse challenges, and operates through a shared understanding of synthesis and mutual desire for communication. As this book shows, signs, ideograms, stains, and strokes are all projections of a thought that aspires to dialogue and interchange in order to attain formal possibilities.
