Photographer Kenichi Higuchi plots a course through the concepts and workshop production of the international design company nendo, established in Tokyo by Oki Sato in 2002. Particularly Japanese in style and form, the effervescent creations of nendo are documented in depth and without text – from images of drawings and diagrams to mechanical production and display. Minimal, organic, sleek and devoid of colour, the objects are subtle reminders that simplicity has its own, haunting beauty.
