‘Another Country in New York’, presenting photographs taken during a 1971 trip to New York and self-published in 1974, was individually assembled on a rented copy machine and featured two different silkscreen covers. Following the 2013 reprint edition, this newly updated facsimile reprint of the legendary Xerox book includes a large number of contact sheets that were never reproduced before. Moriyama writes: “I’ve only been there one single time, but for me New York isn’t just a place somewhere in the world – New York is the world itself. It certainly is a melting pot of people, concrete, steel and glass, but it is at once charged with an indefinable sort of tenderness and sadness.”
