The eight texts compiled in this volume about typography in books, art, and poetry illuminate how the shape and colour of a text can support the author’s or artist’s intention. The main part of the publication comprises a reprint of the catalogue ‘Between Poetry and Painting’, the first London exhibition of concrete poetry at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, held in 1965. Edited by British art critic and curator Jasia Reichardt, the book includes contributions by Stephen Bann, Bronac Ferran, Piet Gerards, Gustavo, Grandal Montero, Hansjörg Mayer, Emily McVarish, Piotr Rypson, and Stefan Themerson.
