Through images and essays, this publication documents a tribute by the city of Spoleto to Italian artist and sculptor Giuseppe Penone during the 69th Festival dei Due Mondi. Invited to create the festival’s official poster, Penone also presented three site-specific projects: the exhibitions ‘Anafora’ at Palazzo Collicola and ‘Ephemeris’ at the Manna d’Oro Baptistery, and the monumental public sculpture ‘Le foglie delle radici’ in Piazza Pianciani. Together, these works explore the artist’s enduring exploration of our relationship to nature, emphasising artistic process over finished form. Since the 1960s, Penone’s practice has focused on the dialectic between being human and being nature. Languages: English, Italian
