In the 1960s, Brutalism was a label shared by many architects in a large number of countries. There are good reasons to continue using this label; the most obvious of them is the marked similarity in the visual aspect of many of the works called brutalists, and a certain proximity in their construction dates, regardless of their location. If we accept this supposedly superficial definition and we stop looking for a substantial, we can then give the term brutalist a group of correctly dated works that share formal and superficial characteristics, even though each of them and / or their creators maintained different conceptual, ethical and moral attitudes.
