As every year since 1993, the Yearbook of 'AV Monographs' gathers the best buildings completed in Spain over the past twelve months, taking stock of its characteristic high quality despite the crisis that still affects the field. The year that saw the Pritzker go to the Catalan studio RCR Arquitectes, and the establishment of the Norman Foster Foundation in Madrid, also witnessed important inaugurations like that of the Botín Centre in Santander – the first building by Renzo Piano in Spain –, the Congress Center in Palma by Francisco Mangado, or the new stadium of Atlético de Madrid in the old ‘Peineta’, by Cruz & Ortiz.
