The City of Divine King (1st volume) and The City of Landowners (2nd volume) are part of the series: "Features of the history of urban development". The books are the result of a many year research project at the Royal Academy's school of architecture. The books deal with urban systems and urban architecture in the river kingdoms of the near east and the Orient by drawing attention to the relation between the social, spatial and architectural aspects. The target group consists of architects, city planners and those interested in historical and theoretical urban questions.
